Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you, Mr. Lin. That was an interesting speech. It is obvious that you are very concerned about the present situation of our environment. As an economist, I’m often seen as being against the environment. When people think of factories, they think of clouds of dirty smoke or a pipe pouring chemical waste into a river. They think of greedy businessmen hiding from their responsibilities to the environment and only thinking about money. People often think that economic development is bad for the environment, but this does not have to be true.
What I’m here to say is that having worked side by side with many environmentalists, I know that a healthy environment and a stable economy should be possible at the same time. There are many factories and industries which control the amount of pollution they produce, and are very careful to spend money repairing any damage they cause. The people running these factories are very concerned about the environment. We need to stop thinking of companies and money as the enemy!
Mr. Lin suggested we should cut back on the amount of things we produce in order to save the environment. I don’t agree with him because then jobs will be lost. I believe that people are more important than fish and trees.
But I do agree that recycling may be the key to helping both sides. We should produce more things from recycled materials, and less from materials taken directly from the environment. What we need is more effective laws to preserve the environment, which still allow the economy to grow. This includes more inspections to control how many trees are cut down and how many fish boats can catch. This might make wood and seafood more expensive, but paying a higher price for some things is not always bad for the economy. Asking around, I find many people willing to pay slightly higher prices for things that are environmentally friendly.
Finally, those factories which pollute the environment should have to pay higher taxes. So, if you want to harm the environment, you have to pay to do it, and I agree with that. Thank you for listening.

Clean energies are forms of energy which do not pollute the air, the ground, or the sea. Clean energies include the following forms.
Solar power describes a number of methods of using energy from the light of the Sun. It has been present in many traditional building methods for centuries, but has become of increasing interest in developed countries as the environmental costs and limited supply of other power sources such as fossil fuels are realized. After passing through the Earth's atmosphere, most of the sun's energy is in the form of visible and ultraviolet light. Plants use solar energy to create chemical energy through photosynthesis (光合作用). We use this energy when we burn wood or fossil fuels or when we consume the plants as a source of food.
Tidal power is a means of electricity generation achieved by capturing the energy contained in moving water mass due to tides. Two types of tidal energy can be extracted: kinetic（運(yùn)動的）energy of currents due to the tides and potential energy from the difference in height (or head) between high and low tides.
Wind power is the kinetic energy of wind, or the extraction of this energy by wind turbines (渦輪). This article deals mainly with the large-scale deployment of wind turbines to produce electricity.
Wave power refers to the capture of ocean surface wave energy to do useful work including electricity generation, and filling a reservoir with water. Wave power is a form of renewable energy. Wave power generation is not a widely employed technology with only a few experimental sites in existence.
Geothermal power is electricity generated by utilizing naturally occurring geological heat sources. It is also a form of renewable energy.

一、簡答題要求學(xué)生在讀懂文章的基礎(chǔ)上，用正確簡潔的語言回答問題。在評分時(shí)同時(shí)考慮內(nèi)容和語言。每題滿分為2分，最低分為0分。
二、給分標(biāo)準(zhǔn)
2分 ― 答出全部內(nèi)容，語言正確；
1分 ― 答出部分內(nèi)容，語言正確；
0分 ― 沒有答對問題。
三、扣分標(biāo)準(zhǔn)
1. 語言錯(cuò)誤扣0.5分，每題語言錯(cuò)誤扣分不超過0.5分（標(biāo)點(diǎn)符號和大小寫錯(cuò)誤忽略不計(jì)）；
2. 涉及無關(guān)內(nèi)容者扣0.5分；若答案中有互相矛盾的內(nèi)容，則內(nèi)容互相矛盾的部分皆不得分；
3.考生所給答案超過限定的單詞數(shù)，扣0.5分。
