A 7-magnitude（震級(jí)）earthquake hit Ya'an, Sichuan at 8:02 on April 20, 2013, and it killed at least 196 people and injured more than 11,000.
Together with other students, Yang Xuelan ran out to the playground. She was safe. But all her textbooks and exercise books were buried（埋）in the teaching building.
What can we do when an earthquake happens? In fact, there's little we can do to stop natural disasters (自然災(zāi)害) such as earthquakes happening. But, some methods can reduce the harm they cause.

◆ Cover your head under a strong table or desk. You can also stay along a wall, and cover your head with your arms and hands.

* It can make the students more active. In a study on this subject, Allan Smith, an assistant professor, had middle school teachers greet their students individually (個(gè)別的) each morning. And the whole day, the students behaved actively because of this exchange of greetings. School went from impersonal to personal and that caused more class participation (合作) and better grades.
* Environments influence friendliness. For example, people in vacation spots were much more friendly than those hurrying to work downtown.
* It improves people’s health. It’s impossible to say hello without smiling. And smiling has been shown to lower blood pressure, reduce stress and bring happiness. Obviously, a smile creates a similar effect in the recipient (接受者).
So maybe we can make the world a better place by saying hello. After a month of doing it, I feel lighter and more connected and I have a better sense of happiness.

Time can be categorized (分類) into three general types:
Predictable Time: Such activities as classes, team practice, eating and sleeping. If you know the restaurant is open between 7:00am and 7:30pm, you should plan to eat sometime between that block of time.

Time management is a system of learning to give first concern to the tasks you wish to complete. The key to being a good time manager is to learn to make full use of discretionary time and try to use it successfully.

Too much TV-watching can harm children’s ability to learn and even reduce their chances of getting a college degree，new studies suggest in the latest effort to examine the effects of television on children．
One of the studies looked at nearly 400 northern California third-graders．Those with TVs in their bedrooms scored about eight points 1ower on math and language arts tests than children without bedroom TVs．

In the California study, children with TVs in their rooms but no computer at home scored the lowest，while those with no bedroom TV but who had home computers scored the highest．
