Two Americans were travelling in Spain. One morning they came into a little Restaurant for lunch． They didn't know Spanish, and their waiter didn't; know English． They wanted him to understand that they wanted some milk and bread.
At first they spelled the word “milk”many times. Then they wrote it down. Butte waiter could not understand them.
At last one of them took a piece of paper and began to draw a cow, When he finished his drawing, the waiter looked at it and ran out of the restaurant at once.
“Do you see,” said one of the travellers, “What a pencil can do for a man who has difficulties in a foreign country !”
The waiter was back again some time after, but he brought no milk. He put down in front of the two American two tickets for a bull-fight.

An English traveler found himself in Norway with only enough money in his pocket to buy the ticket for his trip back home. As he knew that it would take him two days to get to England, he decided he could easily do without food. So he bought a ticket and got on the ship.
He closed his ears to the sound of the lunch bell. When dinner time came, he refused (拒絕) to go to the dinning hall. He told others he didn't feel well. The next morning, he didn't go to breakfast and at lunch time he again stayed in the room. At dinner time he was very hungry, he said, “I'm going to eat. ”

“Yes,” answered the traveler.

Mrs Black is sixty-nine years old. She has only a daughter named Sandra. Mr Black died twelve years ago. She was very sad and lived in her house alone. Two years later her daughter had a baby. The woman was busy all the time and had no time to look after her son James. She asked her mother to live with them.
